KAHLER SLATER RECEIVES INTERNATIONAL MERIT AWARD

Kahler Slater (44 East Mifflin Street) is pleased to announce the firm received an international Merit Award in exhibition design from the Society for Experiential Graphic Design (SEGD) for environmental branding and design work completed for the Snap-on Museum Experience in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Kahler Slater's design team, consisting of both interior design and environmental branding experts, created a completely new museum experience that replaced and expanded the footprint of Snap-on's existing museum space from 2,528 USF to 4,261 SF. Through a series of workshops with key associates, Kahler Slater helped Snap-on cultivate stories, prioritize them and then establish the overarching concept of the museum.

The end result is a holistic experience that enables comprehension of the nearly 100-year Snap-on story, for a diverse audience with varying visit lengths. SEGD jury comments included, "Restraint and discipline combined with a strong color palette create an intelligent and cohesive presentation of a huge amount of content. The 150-foot-long illuminated timeline exposes visitors to the entire company's history in a glance. At the same time, the carefully curated presentation of objects invites intimate engagement."
