“The challenge for photographers of Powwows is to not just capture the color and motion of the dancers, but to provide at least a limited feel for the spirit of the Powwow.  Beyond the singing, drumming and dancing, there are family, spirituality and a connection to the ancestors. My goal is to provide images of Powwows that express in at least a limited way the color and motion and the spirit of the Powwow.” -Mike Rausch
