Apologies to all those who've lost their job, taken a pay cut or watched their retirement account shrink.

But there are signs that Wisconsin's economy is not totally dead.

BizTimes Milwaukee executive editor Steve Jagler says "All of those naysayers who believe Wisconsin is a terrible place to do business need to take a deep breath and do some serious recalibrating. The state has been building some significant momentum in job preservation and creation in recent months and is successfully competing for economic development against the likes of Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, North Dakota and Oklahoma."
