Madison Cocktail Week tries to have a little something for everyone.

For those behind the bar, there are in-depth seminars on kegged cocktails, mezcal, and how to stay well physically and mentally in a strenuous line of work. For diehard craft cocktail nerds, there are DIY liqueur workshops and whiskey tastings. For people who just like a good drink, there's a Brandy Old-Fashioned bash at the Barrymore, where you can watch a Packers game while sipping on Wisconsin's signature cocktail.

Madison bartender Mariah Renz joins Lindsay this week to tell you what you need to know about the dozens of events happening now through this Sunday at locations across the city.

She also shares her own take on how to make a classic Brandy Old-Fashioned:

  • Muddle a raw sugar cube, half an orange slice, a cherry (ideally a Luxardo Maraschino or Amarena cherry), and two to three shakes of Angostura bitters.
  • Add Korbel Brandy, ice, and top off with soda.
  • Garnish with orange and cherry.
