The three taco plate at El Rancho Mexican Grill on South Park Street is a phenomenal deal, according to Matt Wahoske.

AMBER ARNOLD -- State Journal

Matt Wahoske is one of the most enthusiastic chowhounds in Dane County. Matt started out as "the Waunaking" on Yelp, where he racked up more than 250 reviews. Now you can find his photos on Google Maps, often the same day that a new bakery, cafe, pizzeria or tavern has opened its doors.

On this episode of The Corner Table, Lindsay chats with Matt about Mexican street food. There's been a taco boom in the Madison area, with an explosion of new Mexican spots. Many of these are small, casual and worth seeking out for their beef barbacoa, slow-cooked carnitas and chicken tinga.

Restaurants mentioned in this podcast include:

  • El Rancho Mexican Grill, 819 S. Park St.
  • Los Atlantes, 5706 Raymond Road
  • Taqueria Gonzalez (formerly Abarrotes Yuremi), 2606 Allen Blvd.
  • Gloria's Mexican Restaurant, 610 Junction Road
