Pat Mulvey's kids won't let her forget the year she tried to approximate Thanksgiving at a California campsite with turkey burgers and pumpkin s'mores.
"My daughter will never forgive me," said Mulvey, a cooking teacher and owner of the CSA menu planning service Local Thyme.
This week on the podcast, Mulvey joins Corner Table host Lindsay Christians to talk about Thanksgiving, a near-sacred food holiday where the classics are king. Mulvey shares both planning techniques for the big day and some of her family's all-time favorites, like honey and thyme-brined turkey, "pennies from heaven" (carrots with apricots and almonds), triple cranberry sauce and cornbread stuffing.
Some of the recipes discussed on the podcast include:
- Beets, Beet Greens, Caramelized Onions and Feta
- Cornbread Stuffing with Celeriac and Parsnips
- Triple Cranberry Sauce
- Pennies from Heaven
