A Ripon man was rescued from Big Green Lake on Wednesday afternoon after his sailboat capsized a quarter-mile off shore.

Ralph Rich, 68, was not injured in the incident, which was reported at 4:05 p.m. along the east end of the lake in the town of Brooklyn in Green Lake County, according to a news release from the Green Lake County Sheriff's Office.

A jet ski rider, Eric Coplitz, 31, Oshkosh, helped get Rich out of the water, and employees of Shoreline Marine, Green Lake, who had been working on the water, assisted in recovering the sailboat.

A sheriff's office patrol boat also went to the scene, and all parties made it safely to Sunset Park, the release said.
