Washington Post staff writer Amy Goldstein talks about her book, "Janesville: An American Story," during a Cap Times Idea Fest session on Wisconsin's uneven recovery.

When a General Motors plant shut down in Janesville in 2008, it shook the city to its core. Washington Post staff writer Amy Goldstein wrote about the experiences of the workers affected by the closure in her recent book "Janesville: An American Story."

Goldstein spoke about her book at the Cap Times Idea Fest, and along with Marquette University pollster Charles Franklin, discussed the realities of economic recovery in Wisconsin.

You can listen to their conversation in this episode of Live from Cap Times Idea Fest, a podcast that brings you recordings of the many panels and interviews featured at the inaugural event.
