Dear Editor: 100 Black Men of Madison, UW Athletics, Louisiana State University and 100 Black Men of Metro Baton Rouge are combining forces to deliver school supplies to children affected by flooding in Louisiana. The UW Athletics Department will take donations gathered by Thursday morning, Sept. 1, to Green Bay, where they'll be given to Louisiana State University to take to 100 Black Men of Metro Baton Rouge. From there the supplies will be given to children.

Items needed include backpacks, pencils and pens, notebooks, loose-leaf and construction paper, binders, crayons, markers, scissors, glue, rulers, calculators, paper towels, tissue, Clorox wipes, hand sanitizer, and dry erase markers.

Please drop your contributions off at the United Way at 2059 Atwood Avenue Tuesday until 7 p.m., Wednesday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., or Thursday from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.

Green Bay was picked as the hand-off point because the Badgers face LSU in Green Bay this weekend.

Thank you!

Krystal Webb
