Dear Editor: Author and activist Danny Katch will be giving a talk on Thursday, March 22, on the UW-Madison campus. It will take place at 7 p.m. in Sterling Hall (475 N. Charter St.), Room 1313.

Katch will be speaking on the subject of his latest book, "Why Bad Governments Happen to Good People." This book discusses a socialist perspective on Trump's election and argues that Trump is the product of a larger corrupt political and economic system. This meeting is put on by the Madison branch of the International Socialist Organization and after the talk there will be open discussion.

Katch previously published a book called "Socialism...Seriously" in 2015. Katch has been an activist for years in the International Socialist Organization and also contributes regularly to the newspaper Socialist Worker. He is known for his humorous writing style and has stated that he is "activist and humorist often accused of not knowing the difference."
