Dear Editor: I'm deeply disappointed by Sen. Ron Johnson's support for the tax bill. It clearly benefits the wealthy and corporations, not the middle class. Any cuts for low- and middle-class taxpayers will be eaten up by the yearly 10 percent health care premium increase because of eliminating the ACA individual mandate.

Johnson somehow can completely ignore a $1.5 trillion addition to the deficit when he advocated fiscal responsibility throughout his Senate career — until now. He is not growing our economy with this bill, but endangering it with the threat of recession. And he undoubtedly will follow this bill with unprecedented budget cuts to programs people rely on for their survival. I am disgusted by his disregard for constituents who cannot afford this giveaway to the rich. Shame.
