On the second episode of our Cap Times Talk podcast, we take a look at our own past, present and future.

The Cap Times recently turned 100, and to celebrate the occasion, we're bringing you a panel discussion hosted at the Monona Terrace last week. The conversation touched on the legacy of the newspaper's founder William T. Evjue, the stories that the Cap Times has reported on, and the state of journalism in the era of President Donald Trump.

The panelists included:

  • Paul Fanlund, the editor of the Cap Times.

  • Dave Zweifel, the editor emeritus of the Cap Times.

  • John Nichols, the associate editor of the Cap Times.

Joy Cardin, who recently retired from Wisconsin Public Radio after hosting a popular morning talk show for 14 years, moderated the talk.

This episode also features an announcement regarding Cap Times Idea Fest 2018, along with some special remarks courtesy of Milele Chikasa Anana, the publisher of Umoja Magazine.
