Bethany Jurewicz believes chefs and artists are not so far apart.
Like many college students, Jurewicz spent her years in school working in hospitality, both in restaurants and at catered events. She developed a passion for food concurrently with a love of contemporary art.
Her mission, she decided, would be to get the work of innovative, exciting artists in front of as many people as possible. And food could help her do that.
This week on the podcast, Lindsay Christians talks with Jurewicz about a new project called VEA Events: Visual Edible Audible. VEA is collaborating on a series of events this summer, including the CSArt Dinner Series in July at Arts + Literature Laboratory, the first annual Makeshift Festival on Aug. 20 in Olbrich Park and a fundraiser at Centro Hispano called "An Evening of Dreaming" on Sept. 22 and Sept. 23.
Tickets will go on sale this weekend for the CSArt Dinner series.
