Adam Mansbach touched a nerve with tired parents everywhere with his best-selling “Go the F--- to Sleep,” which shot to No. 1 on Amazon.com months before the book was even available. On Saturday, he’ll discuss and sign his book as part of a fundraiser for the Madison Public Library Foundation in support of the 2013 Wisconsin Book Festival.

The event runs from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Brink Lounge, 710 E. Washington Ave. Tickets can be purchased for $5 at www.mplfoundation.org and $7 at the door with proceeds benefiting UW-Madison’s Office of Multicultural Arts Initiatives/First Wave and Madison Public Library Foundation in support of the 2013 Wisconsin Book Festival.

“Rage is Back,” Mansbach’s latest novel, was published by Viking in January. His debut thriller, “The Dead Run,” will also be published in 2013, by William Morrow/HarperCollins. A frequent lecturer on college campuses across the country, Mansbach lives in Berkeley, Calif., where he co-hosts the KPFA/Pacifica radio show “Father Figures.”

Mansbach will also be appearing at the Just Bust open mic night at 9 p.m. Friday at the UW-Madison Red Gym, 716 Langdon St.

The Madison Public Library Foundation promotes and supports Madison’s library facilities, services and programs. The First Wave Hip Hop and Urban Arts Learning Community is a multicultural artistic program for incoming students at UW-Madison. Administered by the Office of Multicultural Arts Initiatives (OMAI), the First Wave Learning Community is centered on urban arts, spoken word and hip-hop culture.
