Largely self-taught in the art of macro-photography, Madison photographer Ann Thering traverses the state in search of bugs, from the rare regal fritillary to the even rarer nine-spotted ladybug. “All That Glitters: Swallowtails, Admirals, Blues and Beetles,” an exhibition of her work at the Lowell Center, features the iridescence of those insects, with images that change depending on the viewer’s vantage point.
Thering also teaches butterfly-garden workshops. The next is scheduled May 8 at Olbrich Botanical Gardens.
