The gun-wielding ninja cat has ridden the fire-breathing unicorn to the Wisconsin Beer Bracket title.

Fantasy Factory, the India pale ale brewed by Karben4, emerged as the Beer Bracket champion early Monday with a 58.6 percent-41.4 percent win over Ale Asylum's Bedlam in the finals.

Voters in that matchup had to decide between a Belgian IPA brewed by a Madison brewery that's already a two-time Beer Bracket champion and Karben4's IPA, made in the East Side building where Ale Asylum got its start.

But Karben4 has quickly made its own name for itself since opening in early 2013 with a cool vibe and malt-forward beer portfolio. Yet its best-seller and name-making beer is Fantasy Factory, a citrusy IPA that manages to be hoppy but not overly bitter. When six-packs of Fantasy Factory debuted last fall, a rush of buyers meant retailers ran out within hours of each shipment. Karben4 has steadily built up capacity to meet local demand for Fantasy Factory and expects to add more beers to its bottled lineup soon.

Fantasy Factory's road to the most coveted title in Wisconsin craft beer went through Yeast region, which saw several upsets in early rounds. Fantasy Factory, the Yeast 2 seed, notched comfortable wins all the way, defeating No. 15 Lazy Monk Bohemian Pilsner, No. 10 Ale Asylum Kink, No. 11 Tyranena The Devil Made Me Do It, No. 1 Lakefront Riverwest Stein and No. 1 O'so Night Train before Bedlam.

But Fantasy Factory won't be the only winner in this year's Wisconsin Beer Bracket. Everyone who voted is eligible for a bunch of cool prizes, including a sweet kayak furnished by Fontana Sports. Winners will be notified soon via email.

Until next year, cheers!
