“The harsher the fire, the more prosperous the rebuild.” These are the words, and old Chinese proverb, which a neighbor shared with Igor Sill, proprietor and winemaker at Sill Family Wines, when he lost his Atlas Peak winery at 2929 Atlas Peak Road two weeks ago.

While his physical winery no longer exists, his vineyards were spared, along with his aging wines, safe in storage off-site.

Igor’s words are as powerful and fruitful as his wines: “As we begin to assess the devastation and impact on our legendary estate, we reflect on our blessings, the wonderful relationships we have formed over the years and our vision for shaping our new winery. We will rebuild, stronger and better than before. Please join us in raising a glass to a stronger, better future.”

Sill Family wines continue to be sold through their website, SillFamilyVineyards.com.
