Transportation ideas sought

The state Transportation Finance and Policy Commission will hold a public meeting Thursday to get ideas from citizens about Wisconsin’s transportation future. The meeting runs from 5 to 7 p.m. at Sequoya Branch Library, 4340 Tokay Blvd. Transportation Secretary Mark Gottlieb is scheduled to attend.

Learn about homeownership

Project Home and GreenPath Debt Solutions are offering two free classes for first-time home buyers. The nonprofits will address the pros and cons of homeownership, money management skills, how to choose a real estate agent and lender, and a number of other homeownership topics. The classes will be held Tuesday and Jan. 17 from 6 to 9:30 p.m. at Project Home’s training center, 1922 S. Stoughton Road. Those interested can register by calling Project Home at 608-246-3737.

EASY LIFE

Scrapbooking in digital age

 A free digital scrapbooking class will be held Saturday at the Monona Library, 1000 Nichols Road. The class will be taught by Barb Perkins of Creative Memories and will include instruction on basic photo editing, organization and design of digital scrapbooks and gifts. The class begins at 1 p.m., and participants are asked to bring photos on a wireless-enabled laptop or flash drive. A limited number of laptops will be available for use during the class. Registration may be done online at www.mononalibrary.org, by phone at 608-222-6127, or in person.
