A show choir co-director for the La Crosse School District is jailed and facing charges that accuse him of sexually assaulting a student.
Dustin Bagstad, 33, of La Crosse faces charges of second-degree sexual assault of a child, repeated second-degree sexual assault of the same child and sexual assault of a student by school staff. He was scheduled to appear in court Thursday.
Bagstad, a part-time employee, is on administrative leave and cannot have contact with students or be on school property, Superintendent Randy Nelson wrote in a letter to parents.
Counselors and social workers are available for students, parents and staff.
Holmen police on Monday arrested Timothy Schilling, an educational assistant at Holmen High School, for sexually assaulting a girl who is not a student in the district.
Schilling, 47, of La Crosse will appear next week in La Crosse County Circuit Court for first-degree sexual assault of a child, repeated sexual assault of the same child and child abuse.
Schilling is on unpaid leave and his employment is under review, according to the district. He cannot have contact with students or be on school district property.
