A Beloit man seen driving all over the road Tuesday afternoon crashed his van into a car on Madison's East Side, causing minor injuries to two inside the car before he was arrested.

Harley McDaniel, 22, was tentatively charged with second offense operating while intoxicated causing injury, hit and run involving injury and failure to stop at a stop sign, Madison police said.

Witnesses said McDaniel didn't stop at a stop sign on East Johnson Street at Pennsylvania Avenue, crashing into the car occupied by a 23-year-old man and 16-year-old male, both from Madison.

"The witnesses, who were in a vehicle, followed the suspect as he fled on foot," said police spokesman Joel DeSpain. "Their efforts paid off as police were able to locate and arrest the suspect."
