A Madison man sought by police for an alleged pistol whipping of a man Sunday night was arrested Wednesday during a traffic stop.

Dalon Love, 25, was taken into custody on tentative charges of substantial battery and armed robbery, Madison police said.

Police had developed probable cause to arrest Love and found him on John Nolen Drive.

He is accused of hitting a 23-year-old man in the head with a gun in a West Gorham Street apartment, and also allegedly stealing marijuana from the victim.

The victim needed 20 staples to close head cuts, police said.
