A 13-year-old Madison boy was arrested Thursday for allegedly bringing a pellet gun to school.

The boy was taken by police from Sherman Middle School, 1610 Ruskin St., to the Juvenile Reception Center on a tentative charge of being in possession of a firearm on school grounds.

Police had received information that the boy had threatened to harm another student.

"The student had concealed the pellet gun in his pants," said police spokesman Joel DeSpain.
