A snowmobiler suffered non-life threatening injuries Tuesday when he drove onto a road in the town of Dane and was struck by an oncoming vehicle.

Brett Roesslein, 52, was injured in the crash reported shortly after 3 p.m. Tuesday on Lavina Road, the Dane County Sheriff's Office said in a news release.

Roesslein came out onto the roadway on a snowmobile when an approaching vehicle driven by Nick Ballweg, 29, was unable to stop because of slippery pavement and collided with the snowmobile.

Ballweg was not injured.

Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Elise Schaffer said no citations were issued at the time of the crash, but the crash will be investigated further by Marine and Trail Enforcement deputies and the Department of Natural Resources to see if any citations should be issued.
