A burglar hit the jackpot Monday at a Milton home, stealing jewelry, coins, and foreign currency valued in the thousands of dollars, authorities reported.
The burglary happened sometime between 9 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. Monday at a residence on Vernal Avenue, Milton police said in a news release.
Items taken in the burglary included gold and silver necklaces and bracelets, silver dollars, half dollars, Canadian, British and Mexican currency, an undetermined amount of U.S. currency, and a knife.
"The total value of the stolen merchandise is in the thousands of dollars," said Police Chief Daniel Layber in the release.
