A Janesville convenience store was robbed at gunpoint early Monday, with the suspect getting money and cigarettes before fleeing.

It happened at about 12:30 a.m. at the Stop N Go, 714 Center Ave., Janesville police said in a news release.

Police said the robber had a black semi-automatic handgun that he pointed at the clerk, ordering the clerk to hand over money and Newport cigarettes.

The clerk was not injured.

The suspect is a white male, 6 feet tall, slim build, wearing a green-colored parka with fur around the hood, black pants and white shoes.
