Update at 3 p.m.: Marcel Taylor has returned to jail and is in custody.

An inmate at the Dane County Jail has been declared absent without leave after not returning from a medical appointment Monday afternoon. This is the second inmate to go AWOL in the past four days, according to a news release from the Dane County Sheriff's Office.

Marcel Taylor, 45, was released from the Public Safety Building jail Monday morning and was supposed to return by 12:15 p.m., but when he didn't come back by 2 p.m., he was declared AWOL.

Taylor is serving jail time under the Huber work release law for retail theft and possessing narcotics. He is 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs about 200 pounds.

On Friday, Paul Richardson, 24, Madison, was declared AWOL when he didn't return to jail after an appointment.

Anyone with information about either inmate should call 911.
