Looks like more books than kegs are being tapped on the UW-Madison campus this year.

Playboy Magazine has the Badgers faithful ranked No. 8 in its annual list of the top party schools in the country, down six spots from No. 2 in 2014.

This is the lowest ranking UW-Madison has had in 10 years. The university was ranked No. 1 in 2008.

Even though UW-Madison fell off the barstool to No. 8, the magazine had great things to say about the party atmosphere in the state capital.

"Beer, cheese and frigid climes equal a good time," Playboy said. "On football Saturday, Breese Terrace transforms into house party central, and the beer gardens on Regent Street are packed with Badgers fans."

UW-Madison is joined by three of its Big Ten Conference rivals in Playboy's Top 10, including No. 2 Iowa, No. 5 Illinois and No. 10 Michigan.

Ohio University, not THE Ohio State University, partied its way to the top spot on the Playboy list, with the other Top 10 schools including No. 3 Florida State, No. 4 Tulane, No. 6 Texas, No. 7 Syracuse and No. 9 Mississippi.

UW-Madison was ranked No. 2 in 2014 and 2013, No. 5 in 2012, No. 6 in 2011 and 2009, No. 3 in 2010, No. 1 in 2008, No. 4 in 2007 and #7 in 2006.
