The University of Wisconsin-Madison is No. 2 in the country, and it's not in football.

Playboy Magazine came out on Wednesday with its new list of the top 10 party schools in the land, and UW-Madison is No. 2, right behind West Virginia.

Last year, UW-Madison was No. 5.

The rankings are featured in Playboy's October 2013 college issue.

The other universities in the top 10 are (from 3 to 10) Colorado, Southern Cal, Florida State, Texas, LSU, Georgia, Arizona State and Maryland.

The list was put together by Playboy editors using data from resources including the National Center for Education Statistics, the NCAA and the U.S. Economic Census, according to a news release from PR Newswire.

Playboy has published top party colleges lists eight times, the first time in 1987.

UW-Madison was No. 1 on the Playboy top party college list in 2006, and was rumored to be deemed THE party school by Playboy as early as 1968.
