A group that says it promotes family values has endorsed a Wisconsin lawmaker who drew widespread criticism for his comment that "some girls rape easy."

Republican Representative Roger Rivard of Rice Lake was among 45 candidates endorsed Tuesday by Wisconsin Family Action.

Wisconsin Family Action director Julaine Appling tells the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel her group endorsed Rivard because of his stance on issues.

Rivard told the Chetek Alert newspaper in December that his father told him "some girls, they rape so easy" as a way to warn him that a woman could agree to sex but then later claim it wasn't consensual.

The endorsement comes less than a week after GOP vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan, Gov. Scott Walker and U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson dropped their endorsements of Rivard for his comments.

Grand. It's a perfect pairing of misogynists, really, to have idiot Rivard supported by crazy hypocrite Appling.

I'll bet Walker dropped his endorsement of Rivard because Walker found out during his try at college that what Rivard says about "some girls rape easy" isn't true. Quite to the contrary, Walker found out they put up quite a fight. Too bad Wisconsin didn't resist Walker with equal vigor in his attempts to screw-over our economy in favor of corporate give-a-ways and cronyism.

Of course Wisconsin Family Action endorsed Rivard. It is, in fact, BECAUSE some girls rape so easy that they oppose abortion in cases of rape.

If those girls don't want to get pregnant, they should learn to fight better so they aren't so easily raped. Of course, it's all a moot point, because they can't get pregnant from legitimate rape anyway, right?

They've introduced the new slogans they'll be rolling out after the election:
"If she's pregnant, it wasn't really rape."
"The only 100% effective form of birth control is abstention... and being sufficiently hard to rape."
"If you get pregnant from your rape- you must have secretly wanted it."

They'll also be introducing new legislation punishing "Fraudulent Claims of Rape" with 18 years of imprisonment. The legislation also creates a new state database to protect the public by identifying and giving the location of girls identified as "Easy to rape". You wouldn't want some poor innocent fraternity boy to accidentally have contact with an "easy rape" girl. Think of the damage to his reputation and the mental stress he would experience if his boyish enthusiasm resulted in some girl claiming he had sex with her without her consent! We must protect our horny, privileged, young men! And the unborn! We must also protect the unborn!

Julianne Appling needs to go away.

Julaine Appling again, eh? I remember a group from years back called "Ladies Against Women" (LAW), but they were a parody. Sounds like Julaine took the idea seriously.

He indeed used a poor choice of words. However, warning our sons that there are females who lie is just as important as warning our daughters that there are males who rape. To say anything different is just sexist.

If we admit that some boys rape, we must also admit that some girls lie about getting raped.

To fall for the mantra "Trust Women" is just that -- to fall. Trust needs to be earned and I don't care what gender you are.

I don't know lynne, ask Walker, Ryan, and Johnson if he did. They dropped their endorsements of Rivard. Looks like you're the cheese standing alone on this one.

Wisc Family Action endorsed this guy!!?? Is this a joke?

You would think these idiots (bigoted repubs mostly) would just keep their mouths shut & make people wonder how stupid they really are instead of removing all doubt.

Did Gordon Hintz offer to resign? There must be different expectations for conservatives.

Jeez - maybe Wisconsin Family Action can use representative Rivard as a spokesman. They better get a patent on that phrase - "some girls, they rape easy" - before somebody beats them to it.
