A first-of-its-kind job fair targeted at Madison's growing Latino population is coming up on Saturday.

Centro Hispano is hosting the job fair at its headquarters, 810 W. Badger Road, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Fifty area employers and schools will be at the job fair, including UW Hospital, Epic Systems and Madison College.

Music, food and children's activities will also be a part of what Centro Hispano hopes to be a festive event.

"Good jobs and career pathways are important to our community," said Centro Hispano director Karen Menendez Coller in a news release.

"This effort is in keeping with Centro Hispano's mission to foster a 'hub' for the Latino community," she said.

The job fair is targeted at Latinos, but all are welcome, the release said.

Dane County Executive Joe Parisi will be on hand to kick off the job fair.

"These are the kinds of positive actions we need to build a Dane County community that is moving forward together," Parisi said. "I applaud the partnership that brought these organizations together to serve Dane County residents, and support their efforts to improve employment opportunities and pathways for all, including Dane County's Latino residents."
