BLACK EARTH / SPRING GREEN—Frederick C. “Fred” Aeschlimann, age 80, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017. He was born on May 14, 1937, to Ernest and Elise Aeschlimann. He was married to Joann C. Hodges on Dec. 8, 1956, at the Methodist Parsonage in Mazomanie and she preceded him in death on July 19, 2006. He was a staff sergeant in the U.S. Air Force. He owned and operated Fred’s Feed and Supply, and was a salesperson for Cole Chemical for many years.
Fred sang in a quartet from high school on and played the accordion. He was an avid golfer, card player and fisherman. He loved his Packers, Brewers and Badgers. Fred was very proud of his Swiss heritage. He was a member of Vermont Lutheran Church.
Fred is survived by his children, Brian (Dana) Aeschlimann of Madison, Kate (Kevin) Lucey of Black Earth, Anna (Mitch) Castleman of Mazomanie, Todd Aeschlimann of Spring Green, Jeff (Liese) Aeschlimann of Jupiter, Fla., and Jenny (Jeremy) Pappas of Spring Green; seven grandchildren, Kesha (Jeromy) Chamberlin, Erin and Mason Lucey, Brittany and Hannah Aeschlimann, Kasey and Riley Pappas; great-grandchildren, Chase Fischer, Cash Wynstra, and Hayley Chamberlin; his sisters-in-law, Marjorie Aeschliman of Cottage Grove, and Nancy Aeschlimann of Mount Horeb; his friend and companion, Dorothy Bowell and her daughter, Linda of Lone Rock; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joann; his parents; granddaughter, Marly Schlub; three brothers, Ernest (Edna), William (Shirley), and John Aeschlimann; and a nephew, Larry Aeschlimann.
Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2017, at VERMONT LUTHERAN CHURCH with the Rev. Barry Hoerz officiating. Burial with full military honors will be at the Vermont Lutheran Church Cemetery. A visitation will be 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2017, at the ELLESTAD CAMACHO FUNERAL HOME, 1710 Center St., Black Earth, Wis.
