EDMONDS, Wash.—LeRoy Charles Blankenheim, of Edmonds, Wash., passed away peacefully at the age of 94 on Nov. 6, 2017, at the Richmond Beach Facility, Shoreline, Wash.

LeRoy “Bud” Blankenheim was born in Madison, Wis., to Edward Blankenheim and Rosetta Pharness on Jan. 26, 1923. He was one of 12 children. LeRoy attended the Dane County Public Schools in Madison. He enlisted in the United States Army as a surgical technician from 1940-1946. He was awarded several service medals for his time in the military. After returning home he became a lifetime member and Cootie of the VFW Post 1318 in Madison. LeRoy met and married the love of his life and wife of 63 years, Mary Ella Cahill. They had one child, John Raymond Blankenheim (preceded in death). After living several happy years in Wisconsin, as well as owning and operating a successful business, B&H Petroleum, they moved to Edmonds, Wash. There they enjoyed retirement, time with each other, as well as with family and traveling.

LeRoy is survived by his granddaughter, Cricket Walker (husband Robert); three great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Brandon and Courtney Walker of Uxbridge, Mass.; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service will be held at Holyrood Cemetery, Shoreline, Wash., on Monday, Nov. 13, 2017, at 11 a.m.
