MONONA / OREGON—Lois M. “Barden” Butt, age 82, of Oregon, passed away peacefully on Monday, Feb. 5, 2018. She was born on Dec. 28, 1935, in Buffalo Township, Wis., the daughter of August and Beulah (Lainberger) Zuhlke. She graduated from Montello High School.
Lois enjoyed bowling, a good game of Bocci Ball, traveling and spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed marching in parades with the Ladies Auxiliary Color Guard. She was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge, and a past member of the Women’s Business Association.
Lois is survived by her daughters, Pamela (Tom) Jacobs, Peggy Nelson and Patricia Barden; son, Terry Barden; step-son, Rodney (Toni) Butt; step-daughter, Pamela (Verle) Krueger; 11 grandchildren, Melanie, Melissa, Tyler, Dalton, Megan, Mallory, Garrett, Kenneth, Ashley, Trevor and Courtney; brother, Leonard Zuhlke; sister-in-law, Carol Zuhlke; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Harvey Barden; second husband, Leo Butt; sister, Elva Schwochert; and brothers, Raymond Zuhlke and Darrell Zuhlke.
Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, with the Rev. Jeff Vanden Heuvel presiding. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
