RIVERWOODS, Ill.—Richard L. Danner, age 85, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017, in Riverwoods, Ill. He was born Jan. 6, 1932, in Rhinelander, Wis., was a former resident of Madison, Wis., and retired to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., for 12 years before moving to Vernon Hills to be close to his family. He was a graduate and received his master’s degree at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, was a retired real estate developer and former Mutual Benefit Life Insurance General Agent. Richard was also a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and a Major in the Marine Corps Reserve. He was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Libertyville and an avid sportsman, enjoying fishing, hunting, boating and skiing.
Surviving are his wife, Deloris “Dody” Danner; five children, Ann (Kevin) Dwyer, Eric Danner, Amy (Bob) Davis, Karen Danner and Andrew (Mari) Danner; six grandchildren, Erin, Kieley, John, Patrick, Grant and Cole; and siblings, Kathy, Jim and Ruth.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Doris and Virginia, and brothers, Eugene and Fred.
Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. until time of services at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 12, 2017, at HOLY CROSS LUTHERAN CHURCH, 29700 N. St. Mary’s Road, Libertyville, IL 60048. An interment service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday at the Lakeside Cemetery in Libertyville.
