MADISON—Ed lost his battle to cancer on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017, surrounded by his family, at the age of 65. He was born on Oct. 11, 1952, to Allegra (Schmitt) and Llewellyn Glimme in Dane, Wis. Ed was a longtime state employee, working and finally retiring from Mendota Mental Health after 40 years of service. In 1997, Ed met his true love, his wife, Geri. Together they made beautiful memories and watched their grandchildren grow. One of Ed’s favorite pastimes was attending his many rendezvous with his Jerksville family. To them he was known as Wounded Owl. When not rendezvousing, he was an avid Packers and Badgers fan—a true Wisconsinite.

Ed is survived by his wife, Geri; children, Ed (Caitlin) Glimme, April (Andy) Glimme, Matt Glimme, Kevin (Jennifer) Harrington, Keri (Matt) Haddock and Kelli Harrington; grandchildren, Airelle, Emma, Adreanna, Chace, Kami, Kaleese, Jocelyn, Keith and Jayden; great-grandson, Kingston; and sister, Mary Glimme. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Joe and Danny; as well as an infant granddaughter, Caytlynn.
