SAUK CITY—Rita K. Haas, age 59, passed away unexpectedly at UW Hospital in Madison on Dec. 5, 2017. She was born March 4, 1958, to Lester and Donna Nachreiner. She attended Sauk Prairie schools. Rita was united in marriage to Dean R. Haas on Aug. 12, 1978; he preceded her in death on Jan. 16, 2011. She had a love for animals and operated a dog grooming business from home for over 35 years. Rita enjoyed exercise and riding her exercise bike, motorcycling and traveling, collecting antiques and refinishing furniture, knitting and crocheting, reading books and tending to her birds at home; but, most of all she enjoyed being a grandma to Savanna.
Rita is survived by a son, Aaron (Jenny Peterson) Haas; granddaughter, Savanna; her parents, Lester and Donna Nachreiner; brother, John (Dawn) Nachreiner of Sauk City; sisters, Brenda Nachreiner of Baraboo and Barb Anderson of Sauk City; sister-in-law, Nancy (Richard) Skalitzky of Tempe, Ariz.; and brothers-in-law, David (Viktoria) Haas of Prairie du Sac, Mark (Kim) Haas of Sauk City, and Mike Haas of Prairie du Sac. Rita is further survived by other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, Dean, she was preceded in death by her in-laws, Monroe and Lorraine Haas, and a nephew, LCPL Nicholas Anderson.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017, at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, 251 Water St., Sauk City. A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service. A private interment will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be made at hooversonfuneralhomes.com.
