LAKE DELTON—Clark W. Justesen, age 95, of Lake Delton, Wis., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2017, at St. Clare Hospital in Baraboo, Wis., with his loving wife by his side.
Graveside military honors will be held Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2017, at 1 p.m. at the FOREST HILL CEMETERY, 631 Spring St., Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.
Clark was born May 20, 1922, in Wisconsin Rapids, the son of Just and Pearl (Clark) Justesen. In January of 1945 he married Lila Jensen in the New York City Navy Chapel. Clark had served in the U.S. Navy and was overseas in Africa, Italy, Southern France and the South Pacific Theater. His naval travels took him across the equator and earned him the distinction of being a “shellback” versus a “polliwog.” Clark worked as a truck driver for CW Transport and retired after 33 years. He loved traveling and camping and was able to talk to everyone he met. He was a member of Teamsters Union, the VFW in Marshall, Wis., and the American Legion in McFarland, Wis.
Clark is survived by his wife, Lila; son, Randall (Karen) of McFarland; daughter, Candice (John) Pratt of Atlantic Beach, Fla.; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Dale (Joyce) Justesen of Ogden, Utah; and sisters, Rachael Justesen of Port Edwards, Wis., and Peg (Dick) Baer of Huntington Beach, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family would like to offer a sincere thank you to both Home Health United Hospice and St. Clare Hospital, Baraboo, for their wonderful care. Memorial donations to Bethany Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Dells would be appreciated.
