MOUNT HOREB—Jean Ann Mueller, age 85, of Mount Horeb, died after a long illness on Nov. 7, 2017. Jean was born Nov. 25, 1931, in Milwaukee, Wis. to Albert and Anna (Keller) Ayen. She was united in marriage to Robert W. Mueller on May 6, 1951.
Jean and Bob farmed and later had a camping and snowmobile business. Jean also worked many years for the State Bank of Mount Horeb, at Meriter Hospital and also at the family-owned Prairie Ridge Cheese. She cherished her time with family and loved having them gather whenever possible. She made untold numbers of quilts for family and charity and was an avid reader. Jean and Bob enjoyed their travels to Alaska, Canada, and throughout the lower 48 states. She was an active member of Springdale Lutheran Church. She was a 50 year member of Eastern Star.
Survivors include her husband, Robert; sons, James (Andrea) and Paul (Shelly Brunner), both of Mount Horeb; daughters, Linda (Don) Olson of Waunakee and Susan (Don) Reinardy of Hayward; daughter-in-law, Denise Mueller; brothers, Richard (Gail Wheelock) Ayen of Jamestown, R.I. and Edward (Phyllis) Ayen of Chanhassen, Minn.; grandchildren, Nicki (Santiago “Santi” Peralta) Mueller, Christina (Stefan) Wills, Valerie (Dean) Laufenberg, Thomas (Tiffany) Olson, Travis (Pam) Mueller, and Derek (Alexis Cole) Mueller; and three great-grandchildren, Addison, Hannah and Arlo. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Charlie; and granddaughter, Samantha.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017, at SPRINGDALE LUTHERAN CHURCH, with Rev. Jeff Jacobs officiating. Inurnment will be at Springdale Lutheran Cemetery. A gathering with family and friends will be from 10 a.m. to 10:50 a.m. on Saturday at the church.
