FITCHBURG/ MIDDLETON - Elizabeth E. "Betsey" Siebold, age 75, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2013, surrounded by her family, after a long struggle with MS.
Betsey was born on May 16, 1937, in Greenwich, Conn., the daughter of Edward and Mary Eames. She graduated from Swarthmore College and received her Master's degree in Physical Anthropology at Columbia University in New York. She taught briefly at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee where she met her future husband and love of her life, Mark. Betsey was an organist for St. Francis Xavier Church in Cross Plains, a longtime volunteer at St. Luke's Church in Middleton and served as the President of the Secular order of Discalced Carmelites at Holy Hill. She filled her life with the love of her family, music, hiking and books.
In addition to her husband, Betsey is survived by her sons, Michael (Kelly) and their son, Gray, and Jesse (Kristin) and their son, Noah; sister, Barbara (Gerhard) Bedding; and brother, Robert (Barbara) Eames. She was preceded in death by her son, Peter Thorndike; grandson, Ethan Hazen; and brother, Harris Eames.

Memorial mass will be held at GOOD SHEPHERD CATHOLIC PARISH AT THE ST. JOSEPH CHURCH, 1905 W. Beltline Highway, Madison, at 11 a.m., on Friday, May 24, 2013. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be held at Resurrection Cemetery.
