EVANSVILLE - Larry James Wickersham Sr., age 64, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, at Agrace HospiceCare Inc. in Fitchburg.

He was born on June 26, 1948, in Stoughton, the son of Woodrow and Arlene (Campell) Wickersham. He attended and graduated from Evansville High School. He served in the United States Army from May 13, 1968, to Oct. 11, 1969. He received the Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Sharp Shooter Medal. Larry married Georgia Greatsinger on Nov. 5, 1970, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and a lifetime member of VFW Post 6905 of Evansville.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Georgia Wickersham of Evansville; four boys, Larry Jr. (Heather) Wickersham of McFarland, Brian (Bridget) Wickersham of Williams Bay, Mike (Jessica) Wickersham of Janesville, Steve (Karla) Wickersham of Evansville; 10 grandchildren; three brothers, David (Judy) Wickersham of Janesville, Lyle (Donna) Wickersham of Evansville, Anthony Wickersham of Evansville; a sister-in-law, Elaine Wickersham of Freedom; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Thomas Wickersham.

He enjoyed woodworking, the outdoors, watching the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers and the Wisconsin Badgers. Larry had a great sense of humor and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, at ST. JOHN'S LUTHERAN CHURCH EVANSVILLE with the Rev. Matthew Poock officiating. Burial will follow in MAPLE HILL CEMETERY EVANSVILLE with Military Rites provided by VFW Post 6905 Evansville. A visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at the WARD FUNERAL HOME EVANSVILLE. Condolences maybe expressed at:
