You really have to be kidding me — the Department of Natural Resources can’t figure out why endangered resources license plate registrations are dropping? It is indicative of how out-of-touch government bureaucrats are with reality.
When my “wolf” license plate came up for renewal, I deducted the $25 fee for the wolf plate and requested a regular one. I refuse to pay extra to display an image of an animal that our Legislature allows to be slaughtered for pure sport.
I support endangered species efforts, but under the current administration beginning with Gov. Scott Walker and DNR Secretary Cathy Stepp, I have major concerns. My $25 is probably better spent donating to groups like the Sierra Club or the Natural Resources Defense Council to fund legal challenges to the state’s wayward environmental policies, including wolf hunting and mines.
