Dear Editor: Monday, Jan. 20, is the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service. To commemorate his work and legacy the Planned Parenthood health centers in the Madison area will be collecting food items for the Community Action Coalition for South Central Wisconsin to address hunger in Madison. The CACSCW serves Dane, Jefferson and Waukesha counties, providing programs that combat poverty in Wisconsin, including food recovery programs, housing assistance and budget consultation. As a coordinator of the Dane County Food Pantry network, the CACSCW provides food for 42 pantries in the area.

For four years, Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin has celebrated this day by giving back to the community. Since 1935, Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin, the state's oldest and most trusted nonprofit reproductive health care provider, has been been committed to addressing the issues and concerns of the community.

Please help out those in need by bringing nonperishable food items to any Madison-area Planned Parenthood health center. The drive runs from Jan. 21-31. Visit www.ppawi.org/events for details and locations.

Thank you in advance for your support!
