Dear Editor: Thanks to Gov. Scott Walker for his unexpected concern for election workers. I don't know how it may be in other places, but in Madison the poll workers take great pride in doing their jobs, working like dogs to make sure everyone qualified to vote gets to vote, and gets his vote counted. This includes doing same-day registrations.

No, wait, I think I've figured out his sudden smarmy concern for us: "in Madison the poll workers take great pride in doing their jobs, working like dogs to make sure everyone qualified to vote gets to vote, and gets his vote counted."

Ah, yes, that would mean more disadvantaged, minority, elderly, disabled and student voters would be voting — and they don't tend to vote Republican.

Ted Voth Jr,

Madison
