SCRANTON, Pa. (AP) -- Oliver Perez got Danny Ortiz to hit into a double play in the eighth inning, leading the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders to a 3-1 win over the Lehigh Valley IronPigs on Wednesday.
The double play came with the bases loaded and ended a one-run inning for the IronPigs.
Scranton/WB started the scoring in the second inning when Ryan McBroom hit a two-run home run.
After Scranton/WB added a run in the fourth on a home run by Mike Ford, the IronPigs cut into the deficit in the eighth inning when Joey Meneses hit a solo home run.
Scranton/WB starter Chance Adams (1-2) picked up the win after allowing just one hit over seven scoreless innings. Opposing starter Enyel De Los Santos (4-1) took the loss in the International League game after allowing three runs and five hits over six innings.
