UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Sophomore Caitlin Comfort placed 10th at the Big Ten Conference women's cross country meet to earn second-team honors, but the University of Wisconsin stumbled to a 10th place team finish.
Comfort covered the 6,000-meter course in 20 minutes, 54 seconds for the Badgers, who finished with 254 points.
Host Penn State edged Illinois 71-77 to claim the team championship, while Nittany Lions senior Bridget Franek won the individual title in 20:03.
Freshman Kiah Ehrke, a former Stoughton athlete, was the Badgers' next finisher in 30th place (21:31).
She was followed by senior Karlye Wolff (69th, 22:56), sophomore Megan Beers (72nd, 23:10), junior Karen Greuel (74th, 23:16) and junior Lindsey Kong (77th, 23:50).
