After posting two impressive NCAA qualifying scores last Friday in a dual meet against Minnesota, University of Wisconsin freshman diver Michael Ross has earned his first Big Ten Conference weekly honor.

Ross helped the Badgers grab three of the top four spots in the 3-meter diving competition, racking up an NCAA qualifying score of 334.96 points, and he ultimately finished third in the event.
On the 1-meter board, Ross also tallied an NCAA qualifying mark of 326.93 to secure his first career win.
Ross was the Illinois state diving champion as a high school senior, and also helped lead New Trier High School to a state team title.
Ross, who shares this week's award with Minnesota's Drew Brown, earned Wisconsin's second weekly diving laurel this year after Caleb Percevecz was honored on Oct. 13.
On Friday, the Wisconsin men's swimming and diving team will venture from home for the first time this season, joining the women's team in Tucson, Ariz., to battle Arizona and UNLV.
