The University of Wisconsin men's soccer team upset top-seeded Michigan in commanding fashion with a 4-0 win Friday in the Big Ten Conference tournament semifinals at Grand Park, Indiana.

The Badgers (10-4-4 overall), the No. 5 seed, advanced to the tournament championship for the second year in a row. On Sunday they will face Indiana, which won the second semifinal 4-0 over Ohio State.

Wisconsin senior Mark Segbers, an All-Big Ten second team selection, started the scoring with an unassisted goal in the 28th minute of play to put UW up 1-0 at the half.

In the second half the Badgers got goals from senior forwards Tom Barlow and Chris Mueller, the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year.

Finishing the scoring was freshman Alex Alfaro, who got his first goal of the season with just a second left on the clock.

The Wolverines outshot the Badgers 20-11, but UW goalie Philipp Schilling had seven saves on the way to his fifth shutout of the season.

The Big Ten championship game is set for 11 a.m. Sunday. It will be televised live on the Big Ten Network.
