Dan Fahey is officially a University of Wisconsin athlete, extending a family tradition at the school that extends three generations.

The prep standout from Saint Ignatius College Prep in Chicago joins fellow guard Jeremy Glover of Haymarket, Va., as walk-ons to the men's basketball program, the school announced Wednesday afternoon.

The class also includes scholarship recruits Mike Bruesewitz, a forward from Mendota Heights, Minn., and Diamond Taylor, a guard from Bolingbrook, Ill.

"We're looking forward to the contributions that both Dan and Jeremy will make to our program both on and off the court," Wisconsin coach Bo Ryan said in a statement. "They are added to a long list of very productive preferred walk-ons that have played at Wisconsin."

The 6-foot-2, 180-pound Fahey averaged 12 points, six rebounds and six assists per game last season en route to All-Chicago Catholic League honors. A two-year varsity player who served as captain as a senior, Fahey also lettered two years in footbal and basketball.

His UW roots are extensive. Not only is Fahey the third child from his family to attend Wisconsin -- his sister Colleen is an alum and sister Meg is a senior -- but his father, Tom, played baseball for the Badgers from 1970-73 and his grandfather, Leo Fahey, graduated from UW in 1945. Fahey also has a twin brother, Matt, and another brother, Tommy.

Glover, who stands 6-3, 175, led Flint Hill High School in scoring (17.8 ppg), rebounding (7.6 rpg), steals and blocks (0.6) as a senior, while shooting 51.9 percent from the floor and 80.4 percent from the free-throw line.

Glover led Flint Hill to a 25-5 record and a berth in the state semifinals his final season, and he led the team in scoring (14.8 ppg) as a junior en route to a 24-6 record and a trip to the state quarterfinals.

Glover is the son of Calvin and Cynthia. He has two sisters, Angela (22) and Stephanie (19) and three brothers, Jamison (13), Jarrett (11) and Justin (8).
