Vonte Jackson verbally committed to the University of Wisconsin football program on Saturday, bringing both members of Kenosha Bradford's standout backfield into the fold.

Jackson, a junior, made his announcement via Facebook and is Wisconsin's first in-state commitment for the Class of 2012 and second overall, following offensive line prospect Dan Voltz of Barrington, Ill.

Jackson chose the Badgers over several Big Ten Conference schools, including Michigan State, Michigan and Iowa. He will be reunited at Wisconsin with Red Devils teammate Melvin Gordon, who signed his letter of intent in February after decommitting from Iowa.

The 6-foot, 175-pound Jackson rushed 70 times for 956 yards — a 13.7-yard average — and 11 touchdowns last season as a junior. He'll take a lead role this fall following the departure of Gordon, who amassed 38 touchdowns and 2,009 yards (12.7-yard average) in 2010.

Jackson is listed as a three-star recruit by Scout.com and Rivals.com.
