Jason Eck, a reserve offensive lineman for the University of Wisconsin football program in the 1990s and a graduate assistant for the Badgers from 1999-2001, engaged in some Twitter trash talk this week.
Eck, who's in his first season as Ball State's offensive line coach, updated his followers on Sunday with a tweet that read, "Players off today .............. unlike Michigan."
Eck clearly had read the Detroit Free Press story earlier in the day which detailed allegations by current and former Michigan players that coach Rich Rodriguez and his staff were making a mockery of NCAA rules limiting the amount of time players can spend practicing during the season and in the offseason.
Funny stuff from Eck, although not exactly a wise move from a career standpoint. Up-and-coming coaches probably shouldn't be firing shots at a guy like Rodriguez, a household name in the coaching business, or a tradition-rich program like Michigan.
